Looking to visit the beautiful Laurel Highlands region of Pennsylvania? Check out these amazing places to stay!
The Laurel Highlands is a wonderful part of Pennsylvania that has so much to do in every season. While it’s only about ninety minutes from Pittsburgh, I always want to stay the whole weekend so that I can do every single activity. That means I need to book a place to stay!
Thankfully the Laurel Highlands has a ton of great places to stay. Whether you want to be near Ohiopyle or Ligonier, there’s an option for you!
Read on for the best places to stay in the Laurel Highlands!
Note that some of the experiences listed below may have been hosted. As always, all opinions are my own!
Shipps Creek
This insanely unique Airbnb is a four bedroom, two bathroom rental home made from shipping containers. This cozy home has all the small touches that make a rental house feel like a rental home. Check out sunset from the creekside backyard, play games in the tiny house, or puzzle by the fire.
Shipps Creek is located conveniently close to Laurel Highlands attractions like Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob, Seven Springs, and Ohiopyle.

Benner’s Meadow Run
No lodging in the Laurel Highlands is more perfect for proximity to adventure than Benner’s Meadow Run RV Campground. Don’t have an RV? Don’t worry! This versatile campground offers cabins, yurts, and tent sites in addition to traditional RV hookup sites.
I spend a weekend in a cozy two bedroom cabin with a friend and it was perfect for a friend getaway. The campground offers a camp shop, ice cream, and a pool, making it perfect for summer adventures. The best part for me? The super strong wifi so that I could work remotely, meaning I didn’t have to take a single day of PTO.
For more information and to book your stay, check out Benner’s Meadow Run Campground website.

Log Cabins at Living Treasures
Yes, the animal sanctuary has a place to stay. These rustic cabins are perfect for a family friendly getaway – or a friend trip! We stayed at the Highlands Suite, which sleeps a whopping 18 people. There were five bedrooms – three appropriate for couples, one with a day bed/trundle combo, and then one with four bunk beds.
This space was awesome for a large group hangout. Love a hot tub but hate the outdoors? Let me introduce you to the indoor hot tub. In addition, the main living room had a pool table, ping pong table, and fireplace. The kitchen had enough room for any beverages or food we wanted to bring.
To book the Highlands Suite or any of the other Living Treasures properties, visit their website.

Falls Market Inn
This adorable hostel is perfect for GAP bikers in the nicer months but is perfect for tourists in the winter months. Just off the main street in Ohiopyle, you could not find a closer spot to stay. Note that many businesses in Ohiopyle are closed during the winter months, but nature is always open.
Full disclaimer – while I haven’t stayed here, I have toured it and I plan to book a stay in the future.
The Ohiopyle Hobbit House
A Laurel Highlands accommodation round up would not be complete without the Hobbit House. This amazing house is inspired by Lord of the Rings, with a hobbit hole door and a themed scavenger hunt to find the One Ring. My friend Lydia stayed here and she LOVED it. Read her review here!
The Ohiopyle Treehouse
If you’ve been wanting to activate your inner child, what’s better than an adult treehouse? This unique stay is located in the perfect place to explore nature at Ohiopyle and then continue to immerse yourself in nature with your lodging. While I’ve never stayed here, my friends Aleah and Seth loved their stay there – check out their video of their experience!
